Champions Showcase in Ottawa
This past weekend, our Under 17 Females attended the Champions Showcase in Ottawa, Ontario. Despite playing in the U17 division, this team was made up of three 2009's, five 2008's, one 2007 and only six 2006's! Against the odds, the girls played brilliantly, displaying a very attractive and enjoyable brand of football and caught the eye of many university and college coaches. The girls ended their round robin play with a recorded of 3-1 with 22 goals for and 6 against, putting them against the Milton U17G in the final. The girls narrowly lost 1-0 in that game despite hitting a post, but again played incredibly well! The weekend ended with a number of players being talked to be university and college coaches who were amazed at the level they displayed given their age. We couldn't be more proud of these young ladies and the way they represented not only themselves, but their Club and their city! A big thanks also goes out to the parents who helped make this weekend an unforgettable one... Go Rush!!
